Environment positive: Protected bike and pedestrian lanes in Seattle.

If you’ve not been to Seattle recently, go see the upsurge in bicycle use that protected lanes and e-bikes (in this hilly city) have accomplished. Copenhagen, Denmark remains the model for cities that have embraced the bike—over 50% of transportation to work, school, and the market (in this flat city) is by biking or walking.
The 23 July Seattle Times discusses a Dutch idea that can be added to the protect-the-biker-and-pedestrian mix: the bike-friendly intersection. See Heidi Groover, “Seattle could be next to try Dutch-style bike-friendly intersection design,” Seattle Times, 23 July 2019, Web, https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/transportation/seattle-could-be-next-to-try-dutch-style-bike-friendly-intersection-design/?utm_source=marketingcloud&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Morning+Brief+7-23-19_7_23_2019&utm_term=Active%20subscriber, accessed 23 July 2019.
