Prayer and Listening

I’m busy, stuff happens, good and bad occurs, which has always been true. In the past, I’d talk at God during prayer—throwing my questions, doubts, and wishes at him.

But through the years I’ve learned he’s always here, and that he’s wise in an eternal way. He’s taught me to listen.

I listen to that wisdom and eternalness, and to the life and love that is his essence. I listen, reflect, and then speak.

“Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.”
     — Job 13:4
